ABOUT
the sounds of our last transmissions
LAHO is an electronic music project and the braindchild of Konsta Vehkala, blending elements of industrial, EBM, futurepop and darkwave, LAHO combines heavy-hitting industrial rhythms into melodic and dark atmospheres. Lyrical themes focus on dystopian visions, self-reflection, and the darker aspects of humanity.
Early recordings date back to 2006 - now rebooted in 2026 with refined sound and vision.
HISTORY
LAHO was originally formed in 2006 under the name Lahonnut Konkelo as the result of musical experimentations of Konsta Vehkala. Soon after that the name was soon changed to LAHO.
The first EP, The Other Side, was released in 2007 and featured seven tracks of instrumental industrial metal with a slightly experimental edge. The EP was later re-released by Ekleipsi Netlabel, who also released LAHO’s first full-length album, Escape from the Dying Star, in 2009. The album marked a shift toward a more electronic sound while still featuring heavy guitars.
After the release of a few standalone singles, the project entered a period of creative void and silence. Other musical projects took priority, and LAHO went silent for years.
Fast forward to 2024. With other bands and projects on hold and more time available, new musical ideas began to take shape. Creativity was in full bloom after a long while, and within a short time a number of new songs were written — this time in completely electronic form. This direction had already been envisioned when the project first went on hiatus years earlier. Reviving the name LAHO felt like a natural continuation, and the project was relaunched under its original name. This new chapter also marked the long-awaited introduction of vocals, as all previous releases had been instrumental.
In 2026, after working carefully and without pressure, a new six-track EP was completed and is now awaiting release. The first preview from the EP, Programmed, was released in February, marking an exciting new beginning for LAHO — with more to follow.
